After completing her Bachelor of Physical Education (HONS) cum laude at Laurentian University, Natalie moved to British Columbia to embark upon her journey into TCM.  She completed her first two years of a 5 year Doctor of TCM program at the International College of TCM in Vancouver. She then transferred to Victoria where she completed the later 3 years at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Natalie is a Registered TCM Practitioner in Ontario with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).
In 2009 Natalie had the opportunity and pleasure of going to China to do advance TCM studies and a hospital internship at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Its affiliated hospital. While there she observed numerous cases at different stages of a disease and treatments, as the hospital had an inflow of 4000 outpatients per day, and 2000 inpatients. A large portion of the study revolved around the use of Chinese herbs. The hospital produced on average 10,000 prescriptions per day. In Chengdu she worked with modern medicine Doctors and Dr.s of TCM, and came to understand better how these practices compliment each other, and where one practice is stronger over the other.

Natalie strongly believes in TCM theories and in treating the mind, body and spirit together. Finding the root of each health concern and correcting it is an important part of alleviating branching symptoms. TCM can make sense of many complex diseases and discomforts, and often draws connections between symptoms, emotions and disorders.

Natalie loves spending her free time with her husband, Steve, and two daughters, Rosie and Sophia. She is passionate about practicing Yoga, meditation and eating nourishing food.  She is also energized by spending time in the outdoors, and by experiencing other cultures and landscapes through travelling the globe.
It is Natalie's passion to share her knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine  in the Greater Sudbury community.

Irina Cividino R.TCMP, R.Ac
 Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner
 & Registered Acupuncturist

Irina grew up in Sudbury and completed two years of political science at Laurentian University. During the course of her study, she realized her original goal of becoming a lawyer did not fully compliment her natural capabilities. In the search for answers, Irina travelled to B.C. and enrolled in a 6 month farming internship. This experience helped her discover many new interests that she felt completely aligned with her passion to help people. As much as she dreamed of spending the following years growing organic food, she also yearned for a reputable skill that could help people in a more direct and profound way. Helping people heal and experience relief from various ailments and symptoms like pain, insomnia and fatigue sounded very appealing. Realizing she could apply this knowledge to optimize her own health was the only persuasion she needed.

Five years later, Irina has completed her Doctor of Chinese Medicine studies at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson B.C. Before enrolling in such a program, it's impossible to know what it really entails, and who you will become by the end of it. It was an immensely transformative experience that not only developed a very unique skill set, but also seasoned her perspective, self-understanding, and ability to relate to the world. She developed a passion for everything Chinese medicine, including Acupuncture, Herbalism, Qi Gong, Daoism, and its' ideologies around diet, movement and emotional well-being.

Chinese medicine uses a diagnostic model that includes many tools that take into account the whole person, gathering as much information about their state as possible. This includes system functions, symptomatic manifestations, emotional tendencies, behavioural patterns, lifestyle choices etc. Rather than treat s symptom independently, TCM sees each symptom as a part of a pattern, and by treating the individual's prevalent pattern, one can more effectively resolve the symptom itself and the underlying causes. Irina believes that sharing her knowledge with patients is of utmost importance. It is essential to offering more understanding and credibility to the profession, as well as empowering people on their path towards health and wellness. Irina was already very curious about how the spirit, mind, body and emotions interrelated prior to her studies. To now have a blueprint of how their interact in a diagnostic model, and to be able to formulate an appropriate treatment plan that can effectively redirect the body towards homeostasis, is incredibly rewarding. She looks forward to embarking on this journey with her patients.

Irina believes health and wellness is not just a goal, but a practice - a way of life. Living a vibrant, balanced life is her sole passion that harmoniously encompasses her other interests, like gardening, playing guitar, meditating, hiking, cooking, travelling and enjoying good company. In the distant future Irina hopes to enrol in various relevant continuing education courses, apprenticeships with former teachers, and embark on some hands-on TCM internships in China.
